I needed a new pair of snow pants for a winter trek to Scandinavia. I won’t be doing anything crazy, so I didn’t need complete waterproofing, just something that would keep the wind and snow off for the most part while I’m walking around. These should do the trick fine, and I do like them overall (with some issues).Pros:-These are super comfortable! They’re warm, soft, and not so bulky that I feel like a walking marshmallow. They’re actually reasonably flattering once adjusted properly.-There are multiple ways to adjust them, and I’ve included close up photos for reference. The waist can be adjusted to sit comfortably at your preferred placement and the legs snap open to accommodate various footwear types. Super handy.-The slightly elasticated waterproof bottom of each leg is great for making sure water or snow don’t sneak under the pant leg.-Quality overall is really nice for the price, I like the material and it’s clear there was a lot of thought put into designing these with all the little details. The extra thickness throughout key areas like knees and lower leg is great.Cons:-Unfortunately these have one glaring issue. Length. Proper length is really important for keeping out snow and lining up properly with boots (not to mention aesthetics). I’m 5’8”, so admittedly on the taller side, but these are wayyy too short. I’d say accounting for mid height boots they’d be ideal for someone no taller than 5’2”-5’3”. They are truly cropped on me, hitting a couple inches above my ankle, rendering a lot of the leg features semi useless/too high up, and also making them look a little funny. I’ll still get to wear them, but only with a really tall pair of snow boots these can sort of sit half tucked into.Overall if you’re short these pants are basically perfect. But, if you’re over 5’3”, consider other options or just know your footwear choices will be more limited.
