I love this sun shirt. The fabric is light yet comfortable. The color is true to picture. I am 5’4 and weigh 130 lbs. I ordered size M.
As you see in my pic, I purchased the blue dye, the pink dye, and the gray dye Baleaf sun jackets. The blue dye looks more of a nice shade of green, the pink dye is much brighter and pinker than expected, and the gray dye looks more of a lighter shade of green/gray. Even though the colors are not exactly what is shown in Amazon's pic, I absolutely love the tie dye colors. The pink is beautiful and really stands out. The blue dye jacket really does look green, but also very beautiful shade. The gray dye jacket is a lighter color gray and I couldn't be more happy. I will wear these all spring and summer long to keep from too much sun. They are very soft and comfortable material with zippered pockets, large protective hood and thumbhole sleeves. There isn't anything I don't like about them. They are a little long in length and sleeves, but that's to be expected being a short, petite 4"11, 96 lbs female. I actually prefer it this way. Perfect. Thank you!
Love this pretty, tie-dyed look, pink jacket. Light weight, but it’s a warm layer on cool mornings. The hood is deep enough to allow for a ponytail and still reaches comfortably over my forehead. The drawstring is very easy to adjust. The sleeves have a little extra length so the thumb holes don’t tug on my hands when running. It also has all the nice Baleaf touches…very neat stitching, a cover for the zipper at the neck, and deep, zippered pockets. Fit is very feminine and perfect for me. (5’6”/140 - Bought a large.)
I ordered this to compare to some other much much more expensive ones. I loved everything about this except for the fact that it doesn’t have a hole in the hood for a ponytail. I have long hair and this is a big deal for me, which is why a took a star off. Rather than returning it, I am having a friend cut open the seam for a few inches and then finishing the edges again. While it won’t be the horizontal opening like I prefer, a vertical opening better is than nothing.
This is not the same item it was a few years ago, and is much lower quality. I have the tie-dye version that I've used for years and it's great. It prevents sunburn and has great design details that make it comfortable and practical, and has held up great after dozens of washings. I decided to order a second one as a backup because it's great, and the design has changed and is made more cheaply. It no longer has the adjustable toggles around the hood and there are no zippers on the pockets. The thumb holes design have also changed to be more simplified and are not as comfortable. They changed the design of the hood completely and changed the zipper toggle. I'll still keep it because of the hassle of returning, but disappointed that they've changed it, I liked the zippered pockets especially, on the older one since I wear this for fishing. My original one from a few years ago was much nicer and higher quality. The price hasn't lowered, but the quality has gone down on this item. Overpriced for the reduced quality, it should be at least $10 less as it is cheaper quality like a lot of the other ones available on here. I won't trust this brand going forward as they are apparently cutting corners and making cheap quality now.
its a great lightweight cover. It is perfect for a trip because it doesn't take very much room when packing.
These are a must have if you’re planning on being under the sun but don’t want to get sunburnt. I’ve used it for playing pickleball, gardening and going to theme parks. Amazing quality and super comfortable!
Bought one in beige last summer and wore it all year long. Love it so much, just got it in another color. It’s been worn 2-3 days a week, washed and dried and still in excellent shape
Love this jacket! Its super breathable and you can feel it blocking the sun well. My only complaint is it stains easily and doesn't get visibly clean after washing so as practical as it is i wouldn't buy more since they only come in light colors that would likely stain just as easily
Lightweight. Good sun protection. I even like the thumb holes to cover wrist and hand, but NOT cooling. Thought it would be comparable to the cooling, sun protection wrap (from Oh!Sunny) I purchased on Amazon a few days before with the ease of a jacket instead of holding a wrap on, not the same.
Light weight and does not feel clingy when wearing it in the hot sun. Love this jacket!
Pros: lightweight and cooling material so good for hotter weather; hood is spacious; light grey color neutral and goes with everythingCons: outside pockets have no zippers unlike their winter vests and jackets (which I love) - this is important to me because I bought this for hiking with my beagle every weekend and no zippers in pockets mean I cannot put anything in those pockets because of possibly falling out. Reviews said pockets were deep so I thought that would offset the no zippers but they are not that deep .
I got this for my afternoon walks and it helps so much! It’s super lightweight and breathable, so it’s very nice for the hot summers to let wind in. This is not a waterproof shirt. It fits great and is very comfortable!
My dermatologist told me to make every effort to stay out of the sun. In addition to a wide brimmed hat and sunscreen she suggested I buy a long sleeved shirt or hoodie designed for sun protection. I'm a plus sized woman and I was thrilled to find this jacket in my size. I wore it all summer in hot sunny conditions and it was comfortable even in 100 degree heat. It did a great job of keeping the sun off. Plus, it washes beautifully and stands up to a lot of wear. The hood provides added protection while the thumb straps keep the sleeves in place and covering the backs of my hands. I'll often wear the hood up with my hat on top for the most protection. Totally love this jacket!
Used this to cover me when going to and leaving the beach this summer. Was a bit hot during the worst of summer when not in a breeze here in Florida. But not as hot as any other jacket that would give me protection in the heat of summer. But was instant relief from the sun and helped not to get that feeling of your skin frying when walking back to your car after a day at the beach. Have since used it on multiple cycling trips. Great sun protection and I love the ability to cover my hands also with the thumb cutouts on the jacket. Easily rolls up so I can put in my backpack, very lightweight. Has held up over the summer with many washes, still same color and looks new. Also can put the hood up and still wear my helmet when cycling to keep my neck out of the sun.
Perfect summer jacket. Been looking for one with decent pockets and sun protection. Doesn't wrinkle and true to size. I have been looking for a replacement for a old favorite summer jacket. I am one that will burn by a refrigerator light so having a light cover up jacket is definitely needed. I like the overall feeling from the jacket too as well as color and size was true to color and fit.
So far, so good with this hoodie. I tested it out in the afternoon sun, and while I could feel the heat on my back, I didn't get sunburned. It did protect me. The entire hoodie does protect the most sensitive areas and really does protect the neck. I like how it fits, and it is cool. I'm petite, so the XS fit somewhat big for my body, but as I want to wear another shirt underneath the hoodie, I was fine with it fitting somewhat loose. Overall, good buy so far, and I will do what another reviewer said: wear it out when I'm driving to protect me. I live in an area (near the equator) where the sun is blazing. Now, my shoulders are super sensitive to the sun, so while I was wearing it I did feel heat on my back from how strong the sun was, but I didn't get burned. The material is cooling, so I wasn't sweating or hot, but the sun here is so strong that nothing can protect you from absorbing the heat. I am still going to wear sunblock underneath the hoodie to protect my shoulders: that's the only part of me that's that sensitive to the sun as I've gotten burned there before. If I plan on staying in the blazing sun for really long then I'll probably wear another SPF underneath this one just in case, but overall, I think this does protect. I just think I need more protection than a regular person on my shoulders. What I love about this the most is that it covers the neck area and the ears and top of the head and my shoulders and back, which are the most sensitive areas to the sun. My legs don't get as sensitive as my shoulders when exposed to the sun. I just like how much it covers while still being cooling to the body. I think this is great for walking around or doing activities that require being outside, but I definitely am going to wear it while driving as I can't really wear a hat as it'll block my view to wear a really large hat, so this is really good for driving in the afternoon.I read that it runs big (at least for petite people), so I wasn't disappointed it wasn't form-fitting especially as I plan to wear another SPF shirt underneath (just in case). I love being outside, so I had to get this hoodie. I have hats etc., but the sun here is so strong that you have to really protect yourself: otherwise you barely get time with nature. Even at 7 p.m. here the sun is still strong in the summer. Overall, a good buy, and it's working so far. I just bought it and have only used it once, but I did test it out before writing this review. My advice is to still wear some sunblock if you have sensitive areas like your shoulders, but I think this hoodie is great for layering and saving money on sunblock. This plus my SPF shirt underneath should save me money on sunblock. It's absolutely necessary to wear protective clothing if you are going to be out in the sun in the summer in a place that's near the equator.I like the color I ordered: lilac.
I have Lupus with extreme photosensitivity (sunlight/UV, fluorescent, and heat hurt me. A lot. Just think of me as a vampire in terms of light, lol). This zip-up hoodie has saved me a lot of pain when I need to walk my dog, pull weeds, go grocery shopping, driving my car or pretty much anything that involves me going outside during the hours that the sun is up. It is lightweight and breathable too, making it an excellent cover for warmer times of the year. I would not want to wear it if it is blistering hot, but it is wearable up into the 70 - 75 degree range. I might be miserable in it at that point, but it's better than all the sores and rashes without it.The fit is great for me. At the time of purchase, I weighed 220lbs (99.7 kg), and I am 5'10" (177.8 cm). Since then, I have lost a little weight, and it still fits just fine. The 2x will likely fit very well for similar weight to height people between 205lbs - 220lbs. It might be tight for anyone starting around 225lbs.I will buy more of these in the future, and I recommend them to any of my friends looking for comfortable and well-fitting sun protection clothing.
I bought a medium in this hoodie. I bought two for Arizona as I walk a lot. I am five feet tall with broad shoulders and wear a 38C. It is almost snug across the bust but okay. For me the arms are too long but I like the thumb holes and I can push the arms up when I want. I have to do that with most of my longer sleeved items anyway. I would have loved to have a petite choice as this is a little long for me but looks okay with their capri pants I purchased to go with them. You can pay a lot of money for one of these from other places, but this seems to work well and look nice. I don't wear another shirt under it when I walk but I can get tanks and over the sleeve T's under it just fine. I really didn't expect anything more expensive to fit any better as they would list the item length and they were the same. If I have any criticism I feel they need more room under the arms but it may just be my larger bust making this appear so. More of a raglan approach would be better I think for wearing in very hot weather but I haven't seen anything like that. I only gave a 4 because of lack of petite sizes I think taller slimmer smaller women would love this hoodie.
This is hands down one of *the best* products I’ve bought this year (and I’m super selective). I couldn’t be happier with the feel of the material, the sun protection, the comfortable wear, or how incredibly easy it is to slip on or toss on my lap when driving. My family has been spending quite a lot of time in the sun during the pandemic, and I was getting too much sun exposure and was tired of sunscreen. I bought this jacket when we went to Saint George, UT (our first trip out since we were fully vaccinated), and it was very hot and sunny. This jacket was a dream. The long front zipper made it super easy to slip on and off between car rides and hikes, the hood is super useful for protecting neck and face, and it’s so lightweight and comfortable I wasn’t sweaty or weighed down by an extra layer.I still use it almost daily when I go on walks, in the car to keep the sun off my legs during long road trips, and for around-town driving for my left arm & neck to avoid long-term sun exposure. So, so easy ♥️I love the light ice-blue color, it’s subtle and very nice, and the fabric feels wonderful.I’m really interested in a tan/brown/reddish brown version for hiking, if the company is interested in offering. The only (extremely minor) downside is that dirt shows more readily on the light material, especially when I’ve got the sleeve pulled all the way down and use the thumb holes to cover my hands. I didn’t want to have to worry about getting the jacket dirty when I sat to rest on a rock or something, but honestly the sun protection is so amazing that even with the chance of collecting dirt I still wear it all the time. The jacket was a little bit looser than I was expecting, but I think I like it better than a tight fit. (I got a Medium; I’m 5’4 with short/athletic build and curves.)Love love love this jacket, 10/10 will buy again.
